Glen Iris Dual Occupancy

This contemporary dual occupancy residence forms two of the three dwellings on a single residential site in Glen Iris Victoria. Being in close proximity to amenities and public transport, the project site was suitable for medium density development. Although the site had a very limited amount of land area, we managed to employ smart and careful spatial design to allow the retention of an existing rear double storey townhouse, and the introduction of two new side-by-side double storey townhouses along the street front, whilst still respecting the existing neighbourhood character and streetscape.

Each dwelling consists of three bedrooms and a study, an open plan kitchen and living space, and two private car spaces. A ground floor alfresco and two first floor balconies ensure adequate open space is provided to each residence.

The ground floor is constructed of solid brick veneer with smooth cement render, and the first floor picture-frame facade is composed of deep eaves in champagne alucobond metal cladding, and cantilevers over the ground floor entry to form the front porch.
