Latrobe Street House

This additions and alterations project involved a complete internal and external renovation of an existing Californian bungalow residence, and a large rear extension composed of an open plan kitchen, living and family space and an outdoor alfresco deck. A new carport and front fence was also provided to the front of the residence.

It was important to maintain the architectural style of the existing residence at the front, and continue this through for the new carport and front fence to create a unified street front facade. However, the traditional front is intentionally contrasted with a modern, minimalist rear extension composed of clean straight lines, smooth flat planes, and a deep parapet roof eave that wraps around the entire rear extension and continues down to form a sheltered entertaining space and alfresco dining area.

With modern interiors finished in timber, marble and stone, the residence was provided with new bathrooms, bedrooms and a contemporary kitchen and family area that connects seamlessly to the rear outdoor alfresco and garden landscape through large floor to ceiling glass entertainment sliding stacker doors.
